Currently showing LeR code most of time when smoking. Replaced auger motor, hot rod, control panel fuse. Recommend only using trager brand pellets.

An HEr means that your grill's temperature exceeded 550°F/287°C, usually due to a grill fire/flare up. When your grill reaches over 550°F, the grill will automatically shut off as a safety precaution, and the controller will display "HEr."

Correct startup procedure: The most common fix for a Low Temp Error is to restart your grill correctly. WiFIRE-enabled (or D2) grills need to be started and preheated with the lid closed. Failure to start the grill correctly can result in temperature irregularities throughout a cook.
Traeger grills cook on an average, very similar to your home oven. This means the temperature will have slight fluctuations, either higher or lower than the set temperature throughout the cook; but over time, the temperature averages out to what you set it to.
A grill shutting off in the middle of a cook is most often caused by one of the following: Power outage or tripped outlet/breaker. Traeger app is on a previous version. Grill firmware on a previous version.
Blockages in the fuel line or other parts of the grill can cause it to get too hot and lead to serious safety issues. To check for blockages, start by looking at the hopper lid. Make sure that there are no obstructions blocking access to the hopper opening.
If your grill can't reignite, it will have a LEr - Low Error Reading or Low Temp Error, depending on the model. This can—and often will—lead to a buildup of pellets and an overflowing firepot.
Take note of the initial temperature displayed on the controller, indicating the starting point of heating, and then compare it with the outside temperature. A working RTD should read within 20°F/11°C of the ambient air temperature.
The NUMBER ONE cause of temperature issues is poor pellet quality. If you are experiencing temperature issues, always begin your troubleshooting by removing and replacing your pellets and vacuuming out any residual sawdust from the hopper and from the auger tube.
