What is the best starting weapon in MHGU? ›

The Sword and Shield is a perfect weapon to start out your Monster Hunter journey with. It allows for fast-paced combos while still being mobile throughout the fight, making it harder for monsters to hit you.

There are four different Hunting Styles: Guild, Striker, Aerial, and Adept. Each style can use different evasive moves or attacks, and equip a different number of Hunter Arts.

General Information. A total of 129 monsters are in the game; 36 Small monsters and 93 Large monsters. 117 returning monsters are in the game; 36 Small monster and 81 Large monsters.

Level Requirements

To reach a given level from unranked, a Warframe or Sentinel needs 1000 × level² Affinity in total. A weapon needs half that amount. To reach the same level from the previous level, a Warframe or Sentinel needs 1000 × (2 × level − 1) Affinity. Again, a weapon needs half that amount.

The Long Sword is one of the best weapons for beginners in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. It's pretty quick, and is all about chaining together combos. You can move quickly while holding the Long Sword, so it's easy to get behind a monster.

There's a reason why the Sword and Shield is the default weapon that players are equipped with at the start of every Monster Hunter game. The weapon contains a perfect balance of many other weapon types.

For MH4U: If it's a low number of button presses and combos, then the Bow, LBG, and HBG are the simplest by far. If it's a weapon that makes fighting monsters easier, then Charge Blade is probably the clear winner, with Lance on its coattails. If it's a lower skill "ceiling" in order to be considered good...

Sharpness applies a modifier to raw and element, the same modifiers to all weapon types. Multiply the raw by the sharpness modifier then compare. The sharpness modifiers for element are a bit lower. For raw, green is 1.05x, blue is 1.2x, and white is 1.32x.
